Dogz ‘N Harmony Classes

Starting February 18th
For all puppies that did not take Puppy 101 class. It’s not too late to start now! Get your puppy started on the right paw with our unique puppy class. We cover safe socialization (people, children, men, puppies) as well as listening to basic cues around distractions. We cover all household manners, vet and grooming handling, no-pulling on leash, come when called, leave-it, drop-it, and much more! All family members welcome and encouraged to participate! Off-leash socialization is included for puppy friendly pups.
Tuesdays, 7pm (Starting Anytime)
Registration Required – (On Going)
Start your puppy off on the right paw with our unique 6-week series off-leash puppy class. This class focuses on teaching the most urgent priority: safe socialization with people (especially strangers, men, and children) and puppies. We cover “gentle jaws,” vet and grooming handling, off-leash control, household manners, sit, down, stand, come when called, leave-it, and much more! All family members are welcome and encouraged to participate!
Tuesday 8pm (Starting Anytime)
Registration Required- (On Going)
Strengthen all the behaviors learned in Puppy 101/201. Continued socialization, proofing verbal cues, hand signals, and off-leash control. We will also cover on-leash and off-leash walking, rock-solid stays, calm/settle, and much more. Receive the AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy certificate upon successful completion of the Puppy 201 class.
Advanced Puppy 401

Exclusively for graduates of Dogz’nHarmony Puppy 101 and/or Puppy 201, Puppy 301. Intermediate level pre-adolescent and adolescent (teenage) puppies continue on and off-leash socialization skills along with extensive and more advanced attention/focus exercises with planned distractions. More emphasis is placed on obtaining reliable sit-down-stand-stays, walking politely on leash, coming when called, emergency rocker recalls, all adolescent behaviors, and much more. We also review and practice the skills necessary to take and pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, and the Canine Life and Social Skills BA, MA & PhD Level skills. (Tests are given on a regular basis when students feel ready.)
Open Enrollment – Starting February 19th (All Ages, All Breeds, All Levels)
Focus on mastering one skill at a time. For any dog that needs a refresher or new skills. Each dog/handler team works at their own level. Foundation! Foundation! Got a dog that seems to care less that you exist? Or listens well at home, but doesn’t seem to know her name or ignores you especially around distractions? This is a great foundation starter class. We’ll help you and your dog blossom into a wonderful, meaningful lifetime relationship so you can enjoy the fun stuff and connect!

Got an exuberant, overly friendly dog jumping to greet you or your guests? Stop unwanted jumping the humane way! We’ll give you positive tips and techniques to stop embarrassing and potentially dangerous jumping behavior. Dogs also get “lotsa” time in this workshop to practice their new, polite behavior!
Settle, Stay & Self Control (2 Week Session)

So…what do you want your dog to do instead? Instead of jumping up on people and counters? Instead of grabbing the leash with his mouth? Instead of …. fill in the blank! This WoofShop focuses on helping you teach your dog one of the most important foundation skills – learning to relax, settle, and stay with fun self-control games, so that you can enjoy dinner, visiting guests, going out in public, etc.This class is the perfect complement to the Jumping Beans/Polite Greetings WoofShop.
Really Reliable Coming When Called (2 Week Session)

Teaching your dog to come when called is one of the most important behaviors you can teach your dog for safety reasons. We’ll focus on increasing the reliability of your dog to come when called in a variety of situations and distractions. We will also provide real life tips as well as “lotsa” practice getting your dog to come when called, every time, even with distractions present!
Emergency Coming When Called (2 Week Session)

Can you call your dog off a skunk or from entering a busy street? This class is for those very scary, yet real, worst case scenarios. For those times when coming when called just doesn’t cut it. This class is the perfect complement to the Really Reliable Coming When Called WoofShop
Open Enrollment – April 23, April 30th and May 7th
Has walking your dog become a drag? Let’s face it…this past winter was really ruff! Are you tired and frustrated with your walks? Learn how to enjoy a nice loose leash walk with your dog using our positive and effective techniques, so you can relax and enjoy taking your dog for a walk. This class will be held indoors as well as outdoors
Open Enrollment – Starting May 14th and 21st
So many applications! Are you getting tired of constantly asking your dog to “leave-it” without results? Does you dog get into the garbage can or try to pick up forbidden items, food, or any nasty things on walks? Or got a counter-surfing dog? Then this is your workshop! We will discuss management techniques as well as give you the necessary practical tools and “lotsa” practice with your dog to end this unwanted behavior. We will simulate real-life scenarios in class using high value food and objects.

Taking loose leash walking to the next advanced level. Continue problem solving techniques and practicing loose leash walking with the addition of planned distractions. This class will prepare you for many real-life situations like the skateboarder zipping by, busy squirrels, or passing by other dogs.

Teaching tricks to dogs is more than just fun and games. This workshop is a great way to beat the winter blahs while improving behavior and diminishing your dog’s mental and physical energy. It’s fun, motivating, and a great way to show off to your friends, neighbors, and family! It is also a great workshop for teaching focus around other dogs.
Basic and Beyond Classes:
Open Enrollment – Starting February 16th (6 weeks)
Do you feel like your adolescent dog is on a different frequency? Tuning you out? Has the puppy “cuteness” worn off? This unique fun class will help you and your teenage dog get back on the same wavelength. We focus on polishing your handling skills while increasing your bond. This 6-week class is specifically designed around all the dogs in the class and can be repeated. We address teenage hyperactivity, impulse control, jumping, barking, leash pulling, counter surfing, better reliability, and more! Also, perfect for newly the adopted adolescent rescue dog.
Open Enrollment – Starting February 16th
Packages available: 6pk, 4pk, 3pk (Pre-requisite: Teenage Survival, Puppy 201/301) Continue to raise the criteria and strengthen all of the behaviors learned in previous Dogz’nHarmony classes. Review and practice the skills necessary to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen and the APDT Canine Life & Social Skills tests.

About the trainers
Our trainers believe that in order to live a happy life with our pets, building a relationship of mutual trust is the basis for all training. Using only humane, positive reinforcement methods, results are achieved by understanding the behaviors and teaching consistency with our methods.
Aimee has been a professional dog trainer and behavior specialist for over a decade. She holds a BA in Communications, is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge and Skills Assessed, an AKC STAR Puppy and Canine Good Citizen evaluator, and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers. Aimee currently shares her life with her Siberian Husky, Java, and Leonberger, Kozi. Together they have participated in various therapy dog, rally-o, and agility programs.
